What we sculpt
The classic catalogue plus everything we have picked up over fifteen years:
- Animals — dog, giraffe, monkey, mouse, snake, butterfly, dolphin, octopus, elephant.
- Weapons & gear — sword (most-requested), lightsaber, bow, axe, fishing rod, motorbike.
- Hats — princess crown, top hat, knight's helmet, alien antenna, mickey ears.
- Flowers — rose, tulip, sunflower, daisy bouquet.
- Characters — Spider-Man, Mickey, Minnie, Hello Kitty, Pikachu — recognisable simplified versions.
Speed and throughput
One twister can produce roughly:
- 40 simple one-balloon sculpts per hour (dog, sword, flower)
- 25 medium two-balloon sculpts per hour (giraffe, fishing rod, hat)
- 10 advanced four-balloon sculpts per hour (motorbike, character figures)
For a typical 20-child party we use a mix — lots of fast hits, a few showpieces. Tell us in advance and we adjust the design queue.
Themed colour packs
We stock standard colours, plus themed mixes:
- Princess — pink, white, soft purple, gold
- Superhero — red, blue, yellow, black
- Frozen — light blue, white, silver
- Christmas — red, green, gold, white
- Brand — any standard latex colour; bespoke shades on request
Pairing options
Balloon sculpting is a perfect second activity alongside face painting. While the face painter works through detailed designs (about 5 minutes each), the twister keeps the rest of the queue happy with hats, swords and dogs that take a minute. Many two-artist parties run exactly this combination.
Pricing
Balloon sculpting is typically priced by the hour, in a similar range to face painting — roughly R1 100–R1 600 for a short walk-about or station booking, scaling with hours and crowd size. Each painter sets their own rates, so check their profile. See the cost guide for example bookings.

Frequently asked questions
How many balloon sculptures can one twister make in an hour?
A simple dog, sword, or flower takes 60–90 seconds. A four-balloon Spider-Man or motorbike takes 4–6 minutes. Expect 25–40 mixed sculpts per hour from one professional twister.
Are the balloons safe for toddlers?
We use high-quality 260Q twisting balloons (Qualatex or equivalent) — much stronger and less pop-prone than party-shop balloons. As with any latex balloon, children under 3 should be supervised, since burst latex is a choking hazard. Tell us if any guest has a latex allergy; we can use non-latex foil sculpts as a substitute (slower and pricier, but safe).
What if it pops?
It happens. Our twisters carry plenty of stock and will redo any sculpt that pops within the event. Outside the event, we cannot replace popped balloons.
Can you do branded balloon sculpts for corporate events?
Yes — within reason. We can twist your logo into a simple sculpt (e.g. a recognisable mascot) and use brand colours. Complex logos do not translate to balloons; we will be honest about what is feasible.
Indoor or outdoor?
Both. Outdoors we ask for shade — heat causes balloons to expand and pop, and direct UV degrades the latex within 60 minutes. Wind is also a problem for finished sculpts.
Can the twister wear a costume?
Yes. We have clown, princess, pirate, and superhero costumes available at no extra charge — say which fits your theme when booking.
